An oil bath and control unit used for quantitative analysis of the tendency of oils to form sludge and acids when exposed to oxygen in the presence of metallic catalysts.  The 26 liter oil bath can accept up to six sets of oxidation glassware. The stirred oil is maintained to within ±0.1°C over a temperature range of 80 to 100°C by a separate control unit. The control unit includes a digital temperature controller, gas inlet pressure regulator, pressure gauge and six precision flow meters with tubes and floats calibrated for 3 liters/hr at 21°C and 0.4bar pressure.
